Item 19 - COUNCIL-INITIATED ITEMS:
19. Creation of Poway ALERT (Alert Law Enforcement, Report Threats) system toll-free hotline 855-56-
ALERT
Recommendation: It is recommended Council concur to immediately activate a new Poway
ALERT system (855-56-ALERT) for a trial period through December 31, 2022. The cost to implement
the toll-free system through the trial period will be approximately $190. Prior to the end of the
trial period, City leadership in conjunction with the Sheriffs Department, will determine if
continuation of the system is warranted.
